Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center will reopen next month, after closing their doors for several weeks due to the coronavirus pandemic. The hotel and SoundWaves water attraction will open on June 25, with several new protocols put in place to keep visitors and staff safe.
“The summer leisure travel season is quickly approaching and Gaylord Opryland Resort, along with our four-acre upscale indoor/outdoor water attraction – SoundWaves – will re-open to visitors who are anxious to get out and celebrate summer,” Vice-President and Market General Manager John Adams said in a statement.
“Guests will be able to enjoy amenities of the resort,” he continued, “as well as the thrill of riding the waves or relaxing while floating along the lazy river at SoundWaves, an experience that is exclusive to Nashville and is fun for the entire family.”
When Opryland reopens, it will be with new cleaning technology, hospital-grade disinfectants, frequent sanitizing throughout the day, social distancing practices in place and upgraded cleaning protocols. In addition, Vanderbilt University Medical Center will serve as the official “wellness advisor” to “further support Gaylord Opryland’s multi-phased health and sanitation re-opening plans, procedures, and staff training.”
Opry Mills mall, located near the hotel, has already opened to the public again. The Grand Ole Opry is continuing its weekly shows, but without an audience. The Ryman Auditorium is currently scheduled to reopen on June 6, while the Country Music Hall of Fame will remain closed until July 1.
