It might only be the beginning of September, but Nashville’s Gaylord Opryland is already getting into the holiday spirit! The expansive resort just announced the launch of the I Love Christmas Movies exhibit, allowing visitors to walk through some of the scenes from Christmas movies classics, like Elf, The Polar Express, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, and more.
I Love Christmas Movies will be part of the 38th annual A Country Christmas experience, which will start this year on November 13, and run through January 3, 2021.
According to WSMV, “As guests young and young at heart navigate the multi-sensory exhibits, they will enjoy over 13 fully immersive scenes complete with replicas of film props, audio clips and more, making participants feel as if they have stepped into part of the actual story. Guests will travel with Buddy the Elf from Santa’s North Pole workshop to New York City; take photos in front of the Griswold’s house adorned with thousands of Christmas lights; and more.”
More details about A Country Christmas are expected to be announced shortly, pending the latest regulations and suggestions by local, state and federal legislation surrounding COVID-19. Activities in previous years included ice tubing, scavenger hunts, gingerbread decorating, concerts and more, along with the more than three million lights hung both indoors and outdoors at Opryland.
Tickets for the I Love Christmas Movies experience will be available for purchase soon. Overnight Christmas packages, which also include admission to I Love Christmas Movies, will be available beginning on September 7. Individual tickets and other Christmas packages will be available as of October 1.
The Opryland resort reopened to guests in June, after initially closing because of the coronavirus pandemic. They remain committed to keeping guests and staff safe by increasing cleaning measures, and maintaining social distance as applicable. More information can be found by visiting the hotel’s website.
