Nashville’s ‘Let Freedom Sing! Music City July 4th’: Everything to Know

The annual Let Freedom Sing! Music City July 4th celebration is almost here. The all-day event, held in downtown Nashville, features family-friendly activities, live music and of course, Music City’s famous fireworks display. Location:

Let Freedom Sing! Music City July 4th  will begin at the Music City Walk of Fame Park, before heading to Jack Daniel’s Broadway Stage, and then Ascend Amphitheater.

Time:

The activities begin at 12;00 PM. The fireworks will begin at 9:30 PM.

Cost:

The cost is free for admission. Food and drink, and event memorabilia, will be available for purchase.

Parking:

What to Do:

In addition to the numerous musical performances, there will also be plenty of all-ages activites. The Amazon Family Friendly Fun Zone, which opens at 11:00 AM will include numers inflatables and family-friendly activities. The event is partnering with PENCIL to supply backpacks and essential school items to Nashville schools. One dollar from every t-shirt gone will go towards the nonprofit.

Performers:

Chris Young will headline the event. The Music City Walk of Fame Park will feature musical performances by Joe West Band, San Rafael Band, Small Time Rock Stars, The Woods and The Magi, with DJ Coach also performing between each act.

Jack Daniel’s Broadway Stage will be emceed by Kelly Sutton, with Mike Parker singing “America the Beautiful” and Keesha Rainey singing the national anthem.

Blessing Offor will kick off that segment of artists, followed by Girl Named Tom and Yola, with Young capping off the night.

Fireworks:

40,000 pounds of explosives and 200 miles of wire will be used, along with 12 flatbed trailers mounted with fireworks, which will be staged outside Nissan Stadium. Also, for the first time ever, 400 drones, flying 400 feet high in the sky, will be part of the fireworks display.

The best places to view the fireworks are at Ascend Amphitheater, Riverfront Park, Public Square Park, Music City Walk of Fame Park, Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge, the Gay Street Connector, and anywhere on Lower Broadway. Exclusive viewing options are also available for purchase here. Large video screens will be available at various locations. The show will also be livestreamed here.

Note: Both the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge and the Woodland Street Bridge will be closed to the public, beginning at 8:00 PM. They will reopen after the fireworks display.

What to Bring:

Backpacks and coolers are not permitted, but refillable water bottles will be allowed, to use at three free water stations, which will be provided along with four misting stations and three cooling areas. Sunscreen, hats, visors and sunglasses are encouraged. Collapsible chairs are allowed everywhere except at Ascend Amphitheater, as are small personal umbrellas. Both items must be stowed by 4:00 PM.
