There’s new music from RaeLynn! The alum of The Voice just released a new song, “Me About Me.” The song is from an upcoming new album, BAYTOWN, out on August 14 on Round Here Records. RaeLynn wrote “Me About Me” with Bob DiPiero and Jeff Garrison, inspired by a conversation with a close friend.
“We were talking about past relationships, and I told her about a situation with an ex where I knew everything about him, but he never asked me about me,” RaeLynn said of the new tune. “It made me realize that I wasn’t alone, a lot of people have probably had the experience of a relationship being one-sided like that.”
RaeLynn signed with Round Here Records, headed by Florida Georgia Line‘s Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley, last fall, after releasing her EP, Me, on Big Machine, followed by WildHorse on Warner Music.
“I want people to know that doing something a little unconventional is sometimes the best way,” RaeLynn told The Tennessean of signing with a new label. “I’m so thankful for everything that’s gotten me to this point in my career. But for me, signing with Round Here Records and being able to own more of my music and being able to really protect what I put out and put it out the way I want to put it out, it’s super special.
“I hope it empowers other artists who come to Nashville to know that you can sign with people in this town who will believe in your projects,” she continued. “It’s as easy as working with people like B.K. and Tyler.”
BAYTOWN will show RaeLynn’s fans a side of her that they have yet to see — but one she has been eager to share.
“I’ve always done things my own way, but I’ve always stayed in the lines,” RaeLynn noted. “Now I feel like with this new music I can drive a little bit off the road, and it’s only going to better me.”
