When Randy Rogers and Wade Bowen started working on their latest album, Hold My Beer, Vol. 2, they also began plotting their Hold My Beer & Watch This Tour, which would take them all over their native Texas and beyond. Unfortunately, those plans had to change, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but the two singers vow to still hit the road, just as soon as it is safe for their fans to gather again.
“The dates will be made up,” Randy vowed to Everything Nash. “We’ll be rescheduled. Our agents are already on that stuff. It’s just kind of a waiting game. I joked earlier that it may actually help us because the crowd will know the words now. They already know the songs, but to see them singing along would be great. That’s the thought process of the tour, too. We’re putting more into this tour; just like we did with the record, we put more into the tour as well.
“We were geared up and ready go, and it was going to be really, really cool,” he added. “We do eventually want to get out there. I’m really excited to tour this because we’ve got some cool stuff up our sleeve, and few things hat we’re going to do. I’m excited.”
Randy and Wade already dropped the video for “Rodeo Clown,” their first release from Hold My Beer, Vol. 2. The lighthearted and comedic video was shot in one day, which happened to be one of the saddest days in the history of Nashville.
“It was the day after the tornado came through Nashville,” Wade recalled. “We were asleep on the bus and had no clue about the night before. We woke up, and we were parked off 19th Street. We woke up early the next morning to get ready for the shoot, and we’re like, ‘Oh my gosh. What happened?’
“We figured it out,” he continued. “Everybody figured out how to get out … Trying to pretend like nothing had happened, but it was a pretty rough day for, for that community.”
