Randy Travis is returning to the Ryman Auditorium. The Country Music Hall of Fame member will celebrate his legendary career with a show on June 5, as part of his More Life Tour, with singer James Dupré, backed by Travis’ original touring band, performing all 16 of Travis’ No. 1 hits, including “On The Other Hand,” “Forever and Ever, Amen,” “Three Wooden Crosses” and more.
In 2013, Travis had a stroke that resulted in the loss of his ability to speak clearly, and to sing. Although he will not be able to perform, Travis and his wife, Mary, will take the stage during the show, which will also include video highlights of Travis’ career.
The news comes as Travis just released his first single in more than a decade, with “Where That Came From.” The song was recorded with the help of AI, and Dupré.
“Celebrating this moment reminds me of how fortunate I am to have new ways of sharing a voice missed by so many of you,” Travis says. “I am thankful to have endless support from my family, friends, and fans. The ability to share new music in ways never thought possible is the gift of a lifetime, and I am eternally grateful.”
It was Warner Music Nashville’s co-president, Cris Lacy, who had the idea to use AI to help Travis create music again.
