Rascal Flatts have a new album coming out, joined by some unbelievable superstars. After releasing their “I Dare You” collaboration with the Jonas brothers, the trio announces the release of Life Is A Highway: Refueld Duets, out on June 6. The ten-track record includes some of their biggest hits, joined by artists like Jason Aldean, Carly Pearce, Blake Shelton, the Backstreet Boys, Kelly Clarkson and more.
“It was such an honor to create this project with such incredibly talented artists,” lead singer Gary LeVox says. “It’s a pretty indescribable feeling having your colleagues and friends do your songs in such unique ways and knock your socks off with the results. This album is just another attempt for us to thank our fans for the blessings they’ve given us on this crazy journey the past 25 years. Thanks for riding along with us!”
The new album announcement comes as Rascal Flatts are on their Life Is A Highway Tour. It’s the tour that was supposed to happen in 2020, as a farewell to their fans, but was canceled because of the pandemic. Five years later, LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney reunited to tour again, with tickets mostly selling out as soon as they went on sale.
“We are humbled and blown away by the response. We are grateful that the fans are just as excited as we are for this tour,” Rascal Flatts said when the news was announced. “We feel the love and truly can’t wait to play these shows.”

Of course, Rascal Flatts are much different than five years ago. In 2021, Rooney became sober following a car accident. His sobriety has impacted every part of his life, including being part of the award-winning group.
“Sober Joe Don is incredible!” DeMarcus tells Taste of Country Nights. “I have to say I’m so proud of him for what he’s been through and what he’s been able to overcome.”
“I think he would tell you if he were sitting here that he’s still processing every day,” he adds. “But I’ve seen him turn into a completely different person. It’s an unbelievable metamorphosis.”
