Rascal Flatts are grateful for their time apart. The trio, made up of Gary LeVox, Joe Don Rooney and Jay DeMarcus, just kicked off their Life Is A Highway Tour, their first tour in six years. After canceling the original Life Is A Highway Tour in 2020, due to the pandemic, the three members went their separate ways. LeVox and DeMarcus worked on solo projects, while Rooney focused on getting sober, after a life-altering car accident.
Now, Rascal Flatts is back, but much different than they were in the past. They recently shared a photo on social media of their time togethe ahead of the show, this time offering a heartfelt prayer of thanks before taking the stage.
“We thank you so much for bringing us to this point,” DeMarcus prays. “It’s been a long time coming. We love you and we thank you for everything we’ve been through in the last five years, and bringing us back to this point. Please touch those people out there, touch the three of us, and help us be quick and fast and steady tonight. We will never fail to give you the glory and the praise and the honor for everything. And bless this tour. Bless the broken road that brought us back to each other.”
The first weekend of the #LifeIsAHighwayTour was a dream. We can’t say thank you enough for welcoming us back after all these years. Can’t wait to do it again this weekend! (📹 Evan DeStefano) pic.twitter.com/fAd3fsBbZL

Rascal Flatts apparently have a lot more than a tour on the horizon. They are also reportedly working on a new album, which will involve several guest artists.
“I’m not supposed to say much, but I can say this: I can say there [is] an amazing roster of artists that we have coming in and singing with us,” Rooney hints to Audacy. “While I can’t tell you the song or songs or who is on it — let me tell you, it is a heavy-hitter project.”
Rascal Flatts already released one of the songs, “I Dare You” with the Jonas Brothers. The three members are all enjoying their shared new chapter, but it’s likely Rooney who has the most gratitude for being able to perform and make music again.
“I’m so thankful to be part of Rascal Flatts and so grateful we’re going on tour again — I can’t wait to see the fans,” he says. “It’s definitely like a second chance.”
“I Dare You” is already in the Top 40 at radio. Most of the dates on Rascal Flatts Life Is A Highway Tour sold out within a week of being on sale. Find all of their music and keep track of tour updates at RascalFlatts.com.
