Rascal Flatts ‘Blown Away’ As Life Is A Highway Tour Sells Out

Fans have apparently been waiting for Rascal Flatts to reunite for a long, long time. Only a week after  Gary LeVox, Joe Don Rooney and Jay DeMarcus, announced they were reuniting for their Life Is A Highway Tour, the trio has sold more than 140,000 tickets, selling out two-thirds of their shows.

“We are humbled and blown away by the response. We are grateful that the fans are just as excited as we are for this tour,” Rascal Flatts said when the news was announced. “We feel the love and truly can’t wait to play these shows.”

Rascal Flatts also spoke out about the milestone on social media.

“The #LifeIsAHighwayTour is officially sold out in several cities with just a few tickets remaining! We are humbled and blown away by the response,” the group posted.

The Life Is A Highway Tour was supposed to be Rascal Flatts’ farewell tour, so the three members could pursue other interests. The tour never happened, due to the pandemic, and LeVox, Rooney and DeMarcus each explored other opportunities, before deciding to reunite in 2025.

“In 2020, we announced the farewell tour after being on the road extensively for 20 years,” Rascal Flatts said when the tour was revealed. “To put it simply, we needed a break. Then COVID hit and our plans came to a screeching halt, like the rest of the world. Since then, we’ve been able to revisit our unique and special experience as a band and we’re ready to get out on the road again. It’s hard to believe that next year will be the 25th anniversary of Rascal Flatts, and that felt like the perfect time to get back in front of the fans who have given us so much.”

The Life Is A Highway Tour will look much different for Rooney, who just celebrated three years of sobriety, than any of the group’s previous tours.

“It’ll be the H2O Tour for me,” Rooney quipped to Taste of Country Nights. “Life in general is different. I’ve got my connection with God and I’m so grateful for that.”

Unlike LeVox and DeMarcus, Rooney hasn’t done much music, until getting ready for their upcoming tour.

“I’m excited about it,” Rooney admitted. “I’m out of practice. I haven’t been playing much music at all. I needed to get away from all of it. I’m a big golfer and I haven’t played much golf at all. I just needed time to really get to the center of myself and really work on myself.

“All that said, I just hooked my amp up the other day and I’ve been cranking it up and doing some Flatts stuff again, and it feels really good to play again,” he added.

Lauren Alaina and Chris Lane will serve as the opening acts on the Life Is A Highway Tour. See a list of dates below. Find more information at RascalFlatts.com.
