Rascal Flatts Drop ‘I Dare You’ With the Jonas Brothers [LISTEN]

Rascal Flatts has a new song out, their first in five years, and it’s one epic collaboration. The trio just dropped “I Dare You,” a song they released with The Jonas Brothers.

“It’s about a girl who’s really protecting her heart, and not really sure if she wants to jump into this relationship with this guy,” lead singer Gary LeVox tells iHeartCountry. “Basically, he’s just begging going, ‘Hey, give me a chance. Let me love you. Let me be the one to take that leap of faith.'”

The Jonas Brothers’ Nick Jonas wrote “I Dare You” alongside Shay Mooney, Dewain Whitmore Jr., and Tommy English.

“We’re so excited to kick off this next chapter of Rascal Flatts with this single, working with Kevin, Joe and Nick is such a blast. They’re class acts,” Jay DeMarcus says of the song. “I think this song fits perfectly into our catalog while also showing off something new and exciting, and we can’t wait to share it with our fans on the road!”

The song, their first since “How They Remember You” came out in 2020, is only part of an exciting new chapter for Rascal Flatts. They will also soon embark on their mostly sold-out Life Is A Highway Tour, a tour that was originally supposed to be their farewell tour five years ago.

“In 2020, we announced the farewell tour after being on the road extensively for 20 years,” Rascal Flatts said when the tour was revealed. “To put it simply, we needed a break. Then COVID hit and our plans came to a screeching halt, like the rest of the world. Since then, we’ve been able to revisit our unique and special experience as a band and we’re ready to get out on the road again. It’s hard to believe that next year will be the 25th anniversary of Rascal Flatts, and that felt like the perfect time to get back in front of the fans who have given us so much.”

Not only will their Life Is A Highway Tour be their first tour since 2019’s Summer Playlist Tour, but it will be the first that Joe Don Rooney will do sober. In 2024, Rooney celebrated three years alcohol-free.

“It’ll be the H2O Tour for me,” Rooney joked to Taste of Country Nights. “Life in general is different. I’ve got my connection with God and I’m so grateful for that.”

Rascal Flatts knew their fans wanted them to reunite. But even they were ill-prepared for how quickly their tickets would sell out.

“We are humbled and blown away by the response. We are grateful that the fans are just as excited as we are for this tour,” Rascal Flatts said. “We feel the love and truly can’t wait to play these shows.”

Lauren Alaina and Chris Lane will serve as the opening acts on the Life Is A Highway Tour. Find “I Dare You” and all of Rascal Flatts’ music and upcoming shows at RascalFlatts.com.
