Rascal Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus just shared the first trailer of his upcoming Netflix reality TV show, DeMarcus Family Rules. The show, which will premiere on August 19, includes his wife, Allison, and his children, nine-year-old Madeline, and eight-year-old Dylan, in their life behind the scenes, especially as they adjust to Jay being home for an extended period of time because of the coronavirus pandemic.
“It was fun to have the cameras follow us around for awhile – our family is crazy, I didn’t realize just HOW crazy we were,” Jay said of the new series. “I don’t think anyone is going to be ready for what they’ll see, they may think they know or have some idea, but I can assure you, they don’t. I’m excited for everyone to see what life is REALLY like once someone like me, who has spent most of their adult life on the road comes home and is back in the mix, trying to fit in and follow all the RULES!!”
This is gonna be one crazy ride! We’re coming to @Netflix on Aug. 19th, and we can’t wait for you guys to see what we’ve been up to, plus I mean, I’m just really funny… Who’s in?!?!! #DeMarcusFamilyRules pic.twitter.com/Yf1bUsh3G4

“I don’t know whether to be nervous or excited for the show to be out,” added Allison. “I’m pretty reserved and then Jay is pretty … not so reserved, which I think is what helps balance us out, but also probably makes for some entertaining situations. Marriage and parenthood aren’t easy, nor are they for the weak at heart! I’m looking forward to sharing our lives with people and hope that people can relate to the craziness.”
Rascal Flatts planned on being on their farewell Life is a Highway Tour this year. While they have yet to announce if they will resume the tour in 2021 or not, Jay is enjoying having so much time with his family.
“It’s been wonderful for me,” Jay previously told his record label, BMLG. “I’ve loved being able to be home with my kids and really connect on a deeper level than I’ve been able to, to be honest. And so, to spend that much concentrated time with them has been really, really awesome for me. I loved being able to wake up and make them breakfast.”
Rascal Flatts’ EP, How They Remember You, was released on July 31. It is currently available for purchase on Amazon.
