Rascal Flatts Release ‘I’m Movin’ On’ With Kelly Clarkson [LISTEN]

Rascal Flatts‘ duet with Kelly Clarkson is out! The trio and the American Idol alum just released their “I’m Movin’ On” collaboration. The song is from Rascal Flatts’ forthcoming LIfe Is A Highway: Refueled Duets, out on June 6. The ten-track record includes some of their biggest hits, joined by artists like Jason AldeanCarly PearceBlake Shelton, the Backstreet Boys and more.

“I’m Movin’ On” has been a longtime favorite of Clarkson, who previously performed it as part of her Kellyoke segment on her The Kelly Clarkson Show. The song was initially released in 2001, from Flatts’ self-titled debut album.

“It was such an honor to create this project with such incredibly talented artists,” lead singer Gary LeVox says of the new record. “It’s a pretty indescribable feeling having your colleagues and friends do your songs in such unique ways and knock your socks off with the results. This album is just another attempt for us to thank our fans for the blessings they’ve given us on this crazy journey the past 25 years. Thanks for riding along with us!”

Life Is A Highway: Refueled Duets includes Rascal Flatt’s current Top 40 single, “I Dare You” with the Jonas Brothers. But it was another boy band that inspired the trio to do an album full of collaborations.

“It just takes time,” Joe Don Rooney says. “The Backstreet Boys is the first thing we did, and it turned out great. And that kind of kicked things off. And then we had a little pause there for a little bit. We got back on the horse and finally rounded it out. So proud of this project. Grateful to be able to do it.”

Before announcing Life Is A Highway: Refueled Duets, Rooney hinted that their new record would include several other artists as well.

“I’m not supposed to say much, but I can say this: I can say there [is] an amazing roster of artists that we have coming in and singing with us,” Rooney revealed to Audacy. “While I can’t tell you the song or songs or who is on it — let me tell you, it is a heavy-hitter project.”

The new album comes as Rascal Flatts are headlining their Life Is A Highway Tour. The tour, which was supposed to be their farewell tour in 2020 that was canceled because of the pandemic, almost completely sold-out within a week of the tickets being on sale.

“We are humbled and blown away by the response. We are grateful that the fans are just as excited as we are for this tour,” Rascal Flatts said when the news was announced. “We feel the love and truly can’t wait to play these shows.”
