Rascal Flatts Perform ‘Bless the Broken Road’ for Trump Inaugural Ball [WATCH]

Rascal Flatts was one of the country music acts chosen to perform as Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States. The trio performed at the Commander in Chief Inaugural Ball, marking the first time the group has performed publicly since announcing their split in 2020.

“God blessed the broken road that led Donald Trump back to us!” lead singer Gary LeVox says. “What an absolute honor getting to sing for America and the next POTUS last night with my Rascal Flatts [brothers]. Definitely one for the books. May God bless President Trump and America in every aspect for the next four years.”

LeVox also spoke out about the invitation, ahead of their performance, sharing how honored he was to be chosen for the historic event.

“I am so humbled and honored and grateful for the opportunity again to play the inauguration of the 47th President of the United States,” LeVox said. “I got to play it in 2016 and now Rascal Flatts will be performing at the Commander’s Ball and I am so looking forward to it! Thank you to [South Dakota] Governor Kristi Noem and Mrs. Virginia — it will be a night to remember!”

Rascal Flatts’ performance as part of the Inaugural Ball comes shortly before they kick off their Life Is A Highway Tour. The tour, which begins on February 13, marks the 25th anniversary of Rascal Flatts. It is also a reunion for the band, who announced in 2020  that they would embark on their farewell Life Is A Highway Tour, so they could each pursue other interests. The tour was unfortunately canceled because of the pandemic, leaving fans waiting for five years to see the award-winning trio together again.

“In 2020, we announced the farewell tour after being on the road extensively for 20 years,” the group said in a statement when announcing the new tour. “To put it simply, we needed a break. Then COVID hit and our plans came to a screeching halt, like the rest of the world. Since then, we’ve been able to revisit our unique and special experience as a band and we’re ready to get out on the road again. It’s hard to believe that next year will be the 25th anniversary of Rascal Flatts, and that felt like the perfect time to get back in front of the fans who have given us so much.”

Carrie Underwood performed an a cappella version of “America the Beautiful” as part of the inauguration. Jason Aldean, Kid Rock, Billy Ray Cyrus and The Village People were among the performers for other celebrations after Trump was inaugurated as President of the United States.

Such an honor to be playing for our president @realdonaldtrump tonight in DC. Excited for where we are headed as a country, the feeling here is electric. We can’t wait to rip it up tonight and have some fun 🇺🇸
