Reba McEntire had so much fun with her first YouTube concert special, she decided to do it again! The 65-year-old just announced Reba In Concert, airing this Friday, August 28. The show, filmed in 1990 at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas, will feature some of Reba’s biggest hits, including “Fancy,” “You Lie” and “Whoever’s In New England,” among others. The concert will also serve as a tribute to her original eight band members, who were tragically killed in a plane crash in 1991.
“This show is very special to me because it features my friends that we lost in a plane crash 29 years ago,” Reba said of the performance. “Their love for music and incredible talents deserve to be seen again, and I’m so glad that we’re getting the chance to stream this concert for the first time ever. I can’t wait to watch it and I hope they will feel all the love we still have for them.”
Reba previously hosted the Reba: Live in Concert special in July. Footage for that special was from her 1994 concert at the Omaha Civic Center. The release of Reba In Concert coincides with the announcement that she will re-release her 1990 Rumor Has It album. The record will be released on September 11.
“I never imagined I’d get the chance to put out an album for a second time. It’s just so much fun to look back and remember where we were and what we were doing when they were originally released,” Reba said about the upcoming project. “This album in particular is very special to me because it was the first time I got to record with Tony Brown and he was the reason I finally got to record ‘Fancy.’ Now here we are 30 years later and I never end a show without singing that song.”
Reba teased the upcoming performance with a video sharing some of the highlights of the unforgettable night.
Reba in Concert will air exclusively on her YouTube channel. The Grand Ole Opry member will chat live with fans during the show. Find more information at Reba.com.
