Reba McEntire is reliving some of her favorite concert memories in a new YouTube special, Reba: Live. The Country Music Hall of Fame member will share, for the first time digitally, her famed 1994 concert at the Omaha Civic Center, which included plenty of both her humor and her signature outfits.
“This was one of my first big tours with all the dancers and costume changes, and it was my very first network television special,” Reba said in a statement. “It’s so much fun to get to revisit it and share it with my fans all these years later! I hope they enjoy it and I can’t wait to share some stories from the behind the scenes during the chat.”
It’s a big weekend for Reba. She will also perform at the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday night, July 18, with her good friend, Vince Gill.
“The Grand Ole Opry has always been very special to me and my family,” Reba said of the upcoming performance, which will be the Opry’s 4933rd consecutive Saturday night show. “It’s part of my history, my heritage and my future, and I’m so excited to get to share the stage with Vince again. Just like Roy Acuff, Minnie Pearl, Brother Oswald, Porter Wagoner and Loretta Lynn, Vince is an Opry legend.
“I’m proud to be an Opry member and I’ll always be proud to stand on the stage with Vince,” she continued. “Things may be a little different right now, but one thing stays the same – the Opry continues to bring great Country music into the homes of the American people.”
Reba was forced to postpone her tour, scheduled for 2020 to next year, a decision that she admitted was painful for her.
“We’re going to postpone our concert tour until next summer,” Reba announced in May. “I hate to do that, but out of everybody’s well-being; we just want to make sure everyone stays safe and healthy. That’s the number one main thing. I’m going to miss you all terribly. The band, crew and I, we’re really wanting to get back on stage, but this is the best thing to do right now.”
Reba: Live will premiere on Friday, July 17 at 7:00 PM CT on YouTube. Fans can chat with Reba throughout the hour-long show via her YouTube channel.
