Reba McEntire, Gwen Stefani to Return to ‘The Voice’ for Season 26

Reba McEntire is returning to The Voice for Season 26! The Country Music Hall of Fame member will return for her third consecutive season on the reality TV talent show, where she will be joined by Gwen Stefani and two new coaches: Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé, who will both make their coaching debut.

The Voice announced the news on social media.

McEntire has been very vocal about her love of coaching on The Voice, especially since the show is unscripted.

“It is a different part of me coming out because it’s non-scripted,” McEntire shared with Everything Nash and other outlets during a recent virtual media event. “It is. You just go have fun, which I like to do that… It is just hysterical. And they come up with some of the funniest skits for us to get to do. So it just brought out my personality that a lot of people haven’t seen. If you see a concert, you’ll see a little bit of it. It’s just me being a me.”

Stefani, who has coached for seven seasons on The Voice, and McEntire became good friends last season, although McEntire admits their first time coaching together got off to a bit of a rocky start.

“At first, she’s so intimidating, and I thought she was being mean to me,” McEntire told Extra. “And then she said, ‘I just want you to like me.’ And I said, ‘Well that’s all you had to say,’ and we’re best friends.”

Stefani later praised McEntire, who took the spot left vacant when Blake Shelton exited the show, for how well the singer and actress adapted to her new role.

“It’s been so fun to know her,” Stefani told Access Hollywood, during their first season working together. “She’s just so much of a legend, and has always been there my whole life as this icon. She’s just one of the most humble, easy-going — she’s having so much fun. I think the first week she was here, she was like, ‘What is this?’ And now she’s just so in it.

“It’s fun, as somebody who’s been here for a while, to watch her experience it,” she continued. “Because I think when you have this really long career, and then you come and do a show like this, and are able to be a mentor and look back at your own career, it’s super inspiring. It’s hard to explain it unless you lived it.”

A premiere date for Season 26 of The Voice has yet to be announced. McEntire will also have her own sitcom, Happy’s Place, airing on NBC this fall. The show will also star her former Reba co-star, Melissa Peterman, as well as her boyfriend, Rex Linn. Find all of McEntire’s music and upcoming shows at Reba.com
