Reba McEntire returned to the America’s Got Talent stage to perform, joined by contortionist Sofie Dossi. Dossi competed on Season 11 of AGT in 2016, where she was awarded a Golden Buzzer by McEntire, who was on the show as a guest judge.
McEntire performed “Can’t Even Get the Blues,” her first No. 1 hit, which was released in 1982.
“It’s wonderful. Absolutely wonderful,” McEntire said of being back on America’s Got Talent, following their joint performance. “Thanks for the hospitality. And Sofie and me getting to be back together again after seven years, it’s fun.”
McEntire will soon become a mainstay on NBC, when Season 24 of The Voice premieres with two back-to-back shows on September 25 and 26. She is taking the place of Blake Shelton, who exited the show after Season 23.
“The country lane — I’m taking over for Blake so I’m gonna represent country music,” McEntire told People. “[He’s got] big boots. I don’t know what size those boots are, but they’re big, so I’m gonna really work hard to make him proud.”
The Country Music Hall of Fame member was eager to join the cast, which this year includes Gwen Stefani, John Legend and Niall Horan, although she admits it is harder than she originally anticipated.
‘The Blind Auditions are so much harder than I thought they were gonna be,” she said. “They block you, and it’s just so devious, but a lot of fun too. Everybody’s just as sweet as kind off-stage as they can be. When they come on the stage though, they kind of change their personality.
“They’re real mean. Especially Gwen,” she quipped.

McEntire’s Not That Fancy: Simple Lessons on Living, Loving, Eating, and Dusting Off Your Boots book will be out on October 10, sharing recipes, anecdotes and more, all from McEntire.
“The book is a fun book,” McEntire on the Today Show. “Sometimes you have books, autobiographies, that are really diving into stuff. This is just a fun book. You can look through it. You can read it front to back. It’s got recipes, stories, new pictures people haven’t seen before. Talking about my family, my faith, my friends. And then recipes that are from the restaurant in Otoka, Oklahoma, called ‘Reba’s Place.’”
The Not That Fancy album will be out on October 6.
“It’s songs that I went into the studio with Dave Cobb and re-recorded,” McEntire said. “And then we’ve got four new songs, songs that we did later, like ‘Georgia,’ the duet with Ronnie and Kix, Brooks & Dunn. It’s great music along with a fun book.”
