Reba McEntire Releases Theatrical ‘I Can’t’ Music Video [WATCH]

A new music video from Reba McEntire is here! The 69-year-old just released the theatrical music video for “I Can’t,” a song she debuted on The Voice, and later also performed at the ACM Awards to close out the show.

“I love the lyrics of this song,” McEntire said when she released “I Can’t.” “I love the melody. I really am drawn to minor chords in a song, and that’s what this one has. A lot of people tell me they can relate to it.”

“I Can’t” is the debut single from a forthcoming new album that McEntire is eager to share with the rest of the world.

“Recording this song was a lot of fun ‘cause I got to work with Dave Cobb and his musicians,” the Country Music Hall of Fame member said. “We stripped it down, and then we recorded it and then started adding more things to the track. It was a lot of fun. We had a great time in the studio.”

McEntire has a lot of other things to keep her busy besides a new album. She will appear in not one but two NBC shows this fall, both for Season 26 of The Voice, and the brand-new sitcom, Happy’s Place.

Passionate about both projects, McEntire is especially eager to return to comedy on TV, especially since Happy’s Place will star both her former Reba co-star,  Melissa Peterman, as well as her boyfriend, Rex Linn.

“It’s lots of fun,” McEntire tells NBC, speaking of being part of Happy’s Place. “I love all genres of entertainment. But the sitcoms are so much fun, cause it’s a brand new script every week. And you’re just having fun. It’s really hard memorizing dialogue you have to do, but it ain’t my first rodeo. I do love it. And it’s just playtime. We have a blast with it.”

McEntire also hints that the two jobs might overlap, since the studios are so close together, with some of her coaches on The Voice, eager to also appear on Happy’s Place.

“Snoop [Dogg] wants to be on the show. Michael Bublé wants to be on the show. Gwen [Stefani] will just come visit, she didn’t say she wanted to be on the show.”

Season 26 of The Voice will premiere on September 23. Happy’s Place will premiere on October 18.

McEntire was also recently announced as the host for the 60th ACM Awards in 2025. McEntire, who also hosted in 2024, will make history as the artist who has hosted the live ceremony the most.
