Reba McEntire has a new single coming out later this month. The country music superstar recently revealed she will perform a brand-new song at the upcoming ACM Awards, which she is also hosting.
“There’s gonna be a new album coming out soon, but we’ve got a new single that we’ll be performing at the ACMs,” McEntire said on The Jennifer Hudson Show, before Hudson played a clip of the song.

Elsewhere in the interview, the 69-year-old spoke about her upcoming sitcom, Happy’s Place, which stars her former Reba co-star, Melissa Peterman, and her longtime boyfriend, Rex Linn. While they have only shot one episode so far, McEntire hopes that the network picks up the show to do an entire series.
“We’ve shot the pilot, it’s on NBC,” McEntire revealed. “And we’re just waiting patiently, sort of, [to see] if they’re going to take it to series or not. So, fingers crossed.”
McEntire loved her time on Reba so much, and has been hoping for a reboot of the hit comedy.
“It seems like a few years, sometimes, and 100 years on the other time,” the Oklahoma native said of being on her eponymous TV show. “But we had such a wonderful time. We’re all still real close, and it was a great time. And now, you can see the Reba show on Netflix starting May 6.”
In addition to Peterman, McEntire also brought with her several of her former co-workers on Reba to work on Happy’s Place.
“It’s the same showrunners, same writers and same producers as the Reba show,” McEntire told Entertainment Tonight. “So it’s going to be that heartfelt, fun, funny, laugh at our silliness, but also be touched by the heart in the show. That’s what I really loved about Reba. Remember when you would watch Andy Griffith, and he always would have a lesson, about how he dealt with something that Opie was going through?”
McEntire has already hosted the ACM Awards 16 times, but realized last year that she wanted to do it again, after watching Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks both hosting the ceremony together.
“I saw Dolly and Garth doing it last year, and I thought, ‘Man, that’s fun,’” McEntire told Entertainment Tonight. “They’re having a great time. And my competitiveness came in.”
Luke Combs leads the list of nominees with eight nominations, followed by Morgan Wallen and Megan Moroney with six nominations. Other performers during the ACM Awards include Cody Johnson, Lainey Wilson Jelly Roll, Jason Aldean, Kane Brown, Miranda Lambert, Thomas Rhett and Chris Stapleton, with more expected to be announced shortly.
The ACM Awards will air live on Thursday, May 16, from the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. The ceremony will stream live exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. Tickets for the general public are available now, via SeatGeek. More information is available at ACMCountry.com.
