Riley Green has another No. 1 hit. The Alabama native just scored his third chart-topping single with “Different ‘Round Here,” a collaboration with Luke Combs. Green wrote “Different ‘Round Here” with Jonathan Singleton and Randy Montana, which was the title track of Green’s debut album, out in 2019.
“This song took on a life of its own over the past couple years and fans from all over have identified with it,” Green says. “I appreciate Luke Combs jumping on it and getting to share this No. 1 with us.”
When Green decided he wanted to release “Different ‘Round Here” as a single, he personally reached out to Combs to see if he would sing on the track with him.
“I just called Luke and said, ‘Man, do you want to be a part of this?'” Green told Everything Nash. “I thought about putting it to country radio.’ You want Luke to be on a song, just text him, and he’ll do it.”
Green, who served as the opening act for some of the dates on Combs’ 2023 World Tour, will kick off his own headlining tour next week. The 35-year-old will embark on his Ain’t My Last Rodeo Tour on February 22, joined by Tracy Lawrence for all dates, along with rising star Ella Langley.
“Ain’t My Last Rodeo is inspired by what I know best: hard work, life outdoors and family and it’s going to be fun adding these new songs to our full set,” Green said when the tour was announced. “I’ve been a fan of Tracy Lawrence since I was a kid so I’m looking forward to having him out with us and watching the fans singing along to all his hits. I also really love what Ella Langley is doing –it’s going to be a great time all around.”
Green’s sophomore Ain’t My Last Rodeo album was released in October.
“I was fortunate enough to grow up within about three miles of my grandparents, so they were a huge part of my growing up and who I am—and this album is a lot of who I am,” Green said when the 12-track record was released. “This is really the first time I was able to really take my time, write and record songs that really felt like a cohesive album—I’m really proud of it and want to thank the fans for all of their encouragement—I hope y’all enjoy it.”
