Rodney Atkins is officially part of a duo — with his wife, Rose Falcon! The country music hitmaker and Falcon have officially formed Rod + Rose, dropping their first single, “Being Here, Being There,” on Atkins’ longtime label, Curb Records.

“This song is about being, and having, that friend who celebrates with you during the highs and isn’t afraid to get in the trenches with you during the lows,” Falcon says of the song (via MusicRow). “We recently went through a year of feeling like there were way more lows than highs, and when you go through one difficult scenario after another, you begin to question everything. It can be hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but if you have that person you can count on to walk through life with you, it’s a game changer.

“When one is down, the other picks up the slack, and vice-versa,” she adds. “We know how lucky we are to have each other, now more than ever.”

Atkins announced last week that he and Falcon had officially joined forces to release music together.

“[Rose Falcon] & I have been singing together for a long time now, and there’s nothing better than doing what you love with your best friend,” Atkins wrote on social media. “Now we have [Rod + Rose] to show for it.”

The 52-year-old was ready to share his talent with his wife, whom he wed in 2013.

“[Rose Falcon] and I have been singing together for a long time now, but after going through the last year side by side, we decided to finally focus on making a project,” Atkins said on Instagram. “Something that was a little different than what we both do individually. There’s nothing better than doing what you love with your best friend. It wasn’t always easy, but we leaned on each other and now we have [Rod + Rose] to show for it.”

Falcon sang two duets with Atkins on his last album, Caught Up in the Country, released in 2019, co-writing two of the tracks on the record as well. Falcon, who has released albums on her own, has previously written songs for Faith Hill, Lady A, Eric Paslay and more.
