Rory Feek Is Married! Watch the Sweet ‘I Do’ Music Video

Rory Feek has found love again. The singer tied the knot with Rebecca, a school teacher he met when she began teaching at the one-room schoolhouse on his property several years ago. The wedding comes eight years after Feek’s wife, Joey, passed away from cervical cancer.

Feek shared a video of him singing a song, “I Do,” at his wedding, which he reveals on his website was a surprise to everyone, including the bride.

“When you want to do something special for someone special in your life, you’ll do just about anything to bring them joy,” Feek writes. “And knowing how much this weekend and the beginning of our new life together meant to Rebecca, and to me, I wanted to find a way to use the gifts God has given me to be a gift to her, and to all those who love us but couldn’t join us for our wedding. And so I made something for her to remember our special day. A wedding album of sorts; video set to music. And though it’s only three minutes long, it is the culmination and celebration of a much, much longer journey for her, and for me, and for Indiana.

“It is the moment when a beautiful past meets an even more beautiful present,” he adds. “And together we begin walking into a future filled with more faith, more hope, and even more love.”

When announcing their relationship, Feek said their relationship grew slowly, even though he doubted he would ever fall in love again after losing his wife.

“Although I can honestly tell you that after losing Joey I wasn’t sure it was even possible (actually I was fairly sure it wasn’t), love has shown up in my life again,” Feek said. “Although in a quieter and gentler way than I knew before, it has come just the same. And it’s been a wonderful thing … Though we’ve known each other for a long while, and I’ve always thought highly of her, I never really knew her.

“But in the last year or so, as we began to spend more and more time together, outside of being Indy’s school teacher and a part of our festival and farm, I was given the opportunity to learn who she really is and what she wants out of life,” he continued. “And I’ve discovered a truly wonderful, kind, generous person who is beautiful on the inside and out.”

Feek has two adult daughters from a former relationship, as well as his daughter Indiana, who is special needs, and was just two when Joey passed away. It was Indiana who suggested that the two tie the knot, although both Feek and Rebecca had already committed to being together.

“Her love for her Mama is so great and so big in her life,” Feek writes in his latest blog post. “Neither Rebecca or I wanted to hurt that in any way. And so we just waited and watched to see if it might ever occur to Indiana that Rebecca could be more than just a friend to her Papa, and to her.  And then one morning in late March when Rebecca came to the farmhouse to take Indy to school we all said a little prayer together to start the day, and then they headed out the door as they usually do.

“But a few moments later, they came back in the kitchen and Rebecca said, ‘Rory, Indiana just asked me something that I think you need to hear,'” he recalls. “I asked Indy, and she told me that she said, “Ms Rebecca, I think you should marry Papa ..”
