Russell Dickerson and his wife, Kailey, are having another child! The “God Gave Me a Girl” singer revealed in a video on social media that Kailey was pregnant again, expecting another boy.
The video begins with Kailey and their two-year-old son, Remington, showing Dickerson the positive pregnancy test, and concludes with Dickerson doing a gender reveal for Kailey, showing that Remington would soon have a little brother.

The exciting news comes after Kailey suffered a miscarriage last fall. She shared the heartbreaking news in a lengthy Instagram post on social media at the end of 2022.
“In the middle of the craziest year we have ever had, we lost a baby in September at 8 weeks… It felt like drowning and trying to swim towards sun to find the surface,” Kailey writes in part. “I didn’t know if I’d ever share this, but something about going into this next year, I needed to leave this news in 2022. The loss; however, is something that will always be written into our story. I know I’ll share more about it when I’m ready, but for now, and for the last several months, I’m holding these two extra close.”
Dickerson loves everything about being a father to Remington, who was born in September of 2020.
“It’s the best thing in the world,” Dickerson tells Everything Nash. “We’re best friends, and I love every second we get to hang out and kiss his face and wrestle. It’s hard. He is two, but it’s absolutely the best thing in the world.”
The Tennessee native released his eponymous third studio album in November, with Dickerson having a hand in writing all of the tracks on the record.
“It’s 15 of my favorite songs I’ve written since my last album,” Dickerson shares. “No ifs, ands, or buts about it. Just straight up 15 bangers. I wasn’t like, ‘Oh, we need a sad song here,’ or, ‘We need a blah, blah blah.’ I was like, ‘These are 15 songs that I can’t not record.”
Dickerson didn’t intend to write all of the songs on the project, at least not at first. But once he compared them to songs written by other writers, he realized he had enough of his own that were really, really good.
“I had some songs on hold that I wanted to record, and as I would play them for my tight group of people, they were just like, ‘I feel like you have better,’” Dickerson recalls. “I am not precious about writing every song on my album, by any means. I want to record outside songs. This community here … there are a million hit songs sitting in people’s folders right now.”
