Sam Hunt fully planned on getting ready to hit the road on his Southside Summer Tour right now, but due to COVID-19, he, along with millions of other Americans, is being forced to self-isolate at home. For Sam, that means, reading, relaxing, and time outside –– but definitely not working out.
“It’s nonexistent right now,” Sam told ABC Audio, speaking of his workouts. “I had my routine of playing basketball and going down to the YMCA and working out down for a while there. I was on a pretty good roll before this hit. But I figured I’ll just wait this out and get back going whenever things get back to normal.”
The “Hard to Forget” singer is still finding plenty of ways to occupy his time, even if it isn’t at the gym.
“I’ve been reading, trying to read some,” Sam revealed. “I have this longbow that I like to shoot. So I get it out and shoot my bow a little bit. I let the dogs run, do a little walking in the woods, and just napping. I’ve done a little napping too.”
Sam and his wife, Hannah, just moved into a remote home before the coronavirus pandemic hit, which is where they are currently spending their time.
“We’re doing well,” Sam told his record label. “We’re stocked up on groceries and supplies and we live south of town. We just moved into a little cabin out in the woods about five months ago, so we’re getting some time in the new place, getting to know it a little bit. There’s some woods behind the house we can go and walk in, and we’re doing that now after we binged out on Netflix and Youtube, and got some dogs.
“I’ve got a little bird dog puppy,” he added. “I’ll get out in the yard, trying to train, so I’ll mess with him a little bit. Getting to spend some time around the house, taking it easy, but I’m hoping this thing passes sooner than later.”
Sam’s Southside album came out in April. The record includes both “Young Once,” and his current single, “Hard to Forget.”
