Scotty McCreery has a two-year-old! The 31-year-old and his wife, Gabi, celebrated Avery with a Cars-themed birthday party, complete with a new toy car, a birthday cake, and a brand-new, toddler-sized drum set.
The couple shared a few photos of the event on social media, along with a clip of Avery’s first drum solo.

Avery, whose full name is Merrick Avery McCreery, was born on October 24, 2022, in a Nashville hospital.
“Next to his mother, he is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen,” McCreery said when his first child was born. “We have been waiting and preparing all year, and now we are so excited to have our little man here with us. We have begun a grand new adventure that will continue for the rest of our lives.”
“Gabi was a total rock star during Avery’s birth. I could not be more proud of her,” he added. “She has already taken to motherhood like a champ. Part of my joy as his Dad is watching Gabi already crush it as his Mom.”
The North Carolina native also posted about the occasion on social media, using a line that would become a lyric in one of the songs, “Love Like This,” from his latest Rise & Fall album.

“The day he was born, or maybe it was the day after, I put a post up of him on Instagram,” McCreery said of the story behind the song. “I think all I said was, ‘I’ve never known a love like this’ kind of thing. The song follows that thought process.”
McCreery spends a lot of time on the road, but fortunately, he is able to travel with his wife and son most of the time.
“I got a little crib in the bus, and they get to travel around,” the Grand Ole Opry member said at a recent media event. “If the show doesn’t start too late, Avery’s side stage, watching. We’ve had beach days together, we’ve had mountain trips where he’s crossed the bridge … We do a lot of stuff as a family. Just watching him grow up and realize what we do, it’s pretty cool.”
McCreery is headlining his own Fall of Summer Tour throughout the remainder of this year. He will spend part of 2025 on the road with Kane Brown, for Brown’s The High Road Tour, serving as one of the opening acts, along with Ashley Cooke, Mitchell Tenpenny and Dasha. McCreery will also headline his own overseas tour in the UK as well next year.
