Scotty McCreery and Jason Crabb Drop Acoustic Version of ‘Red Letter Blueprint’ [WATCH]

Scotty McCreery to Release 'Red Letter Blueprint' With Jason Crabb

A new version of Scotty McCreery and Jason Crabb‘s “Red Letter Blueprint” is out. Less than a week after the original collaboration was released, the two dropped a gorgeous, acoustic version of the track as well.

It was one of McCreery’s band members who first had the idea for the American Idol alum to do a new version of the feel-good song with Crabb.

“I’ve been a big fan of Jason Crabb,” McCreery said when the duet was announced. “When my guitarist suggested we collab on ‘Red Letter Blueprint’ I knew it was going to turn out special. Having him on the song took it from a track I love, to a track I am so so proud of.”

When McCreery first released “Red Letter Blueprint,” from his  2024 Rise & Fall album, he said it was a special song for him. McCreery wrote the gospel tune with Derek George, Brent Anderson, Jeremy Bussey and Monty Criswell

“It’s just about how, every answer you need is right there in the Good Book, in the Bible,” McCreery shared. “I try to dive in and read the Word as best as I can. I’m like everybody who wishes they could do more, but it’s just that kind of song. ‘Hey, if life is going here, if life is going there,’ it applies to those right there. It’s a special song. I loved it when we were writing it. I love how it’s come out in the studio. I think folks will enjoy it.”

McCreery and Crabb performed the song live earlier this week at the Grand Ole Opry. The ‘Fall of Summer” singer became a member in 2024, and could someday share membership with Crabb, if Trace Adkins has his way.

“Before I go tonight, I just want to say thank you to all the legendary entertainers that have been on this stage tonight,” Adkins said in 2023, while celebrating his  20th anniversary as an Opry member  (via CMT).  “I’ll just say this while I have the microphone in my hand: if I have to apologize for it I will. I think Jason Crabb and Exile ought to be members of the Grand Ole Opry. I think it’s a shame that they’re not. If you’ve got a problem with that, fire me. I’m starting a campaign, and I ain’t going to rest until they’re members of the Grand Ole Opry. Thank you all for coming out and sharing this evening with us. We love you!”.”

McCreery will spend part of 2025 opening for Kane Brown on Brown’s The High Road Tour. He will also headline his own UK Tour this year.  Find all of McCreery’s music and upcoming shows at ScottyMcCreery.com.
