Scotty McCreery is heading overseas! The American Idol alum just announced his Same Truck Tour will head to Europe next year, performing three shows in Germany and one show in the Netherlands. The new shows are in addition to McCreery’s previously-announced performances at the C2C Festival in the UK and Ireland.
“Growing up in North Carolina, it was always a dream of mine to be able to perform my music around the globe,” McCreery says. “I am looking forward to playing C2C in March in the UK and Ireland, but was also hoping we could return to Germany after we had such a great time there a couple of years ago. I’m really happy to be able to perform in Hamburg, Frankfurt, and Munich and get to know those cities. I’m also very excited about visiting the Netherlands for the first time as I’ve heard such great things about Amsterdam. Can’t wait to see everyone!”
McCreery will embark on his Same Truck Tour in January, following his You Time Tour, which wrapped up earlier this year. While the 28-year-old loves any chance to perform in front of his fans, he is especially excited to hit the road next year.
“I always love touring on the album,’ McCreery said ahead of the 2021 CMA Awards. “We did the Seasons Change Tour, we did the See You Tonight tour. So it’s going to be cool doing the Same Truck Tour, because you get to do the album top to bottom. We’re playing a couple of songs right now on the road, but to go all the way down, see what the fans think and how they react to the songs, it’s a good thing.”
McCreery is back at radio with “Damn Strait.” The song, from his latest Same Truck album, follows his fourth consecutive No. 1 hit, “You Time,” and is quickly climbing up the charts.
“I was writing songs left and right,” McCreery tells Everything Nash of recording “Damn Strait,” which was written by Trent Tomlinson and Joe Collins. “We had the songs put on there, but for me, when I heard a song ‘Damn Strait,’ I immediately raised my hand and said, ‘Me, me, me.’ It’s such a cool song. It’s so cleverly written. And obviously I’m a massive George Strait fan. It just sounded so much like me.”
