Scotty McCreery Announces Fall of Summer Headlining Tour

Scotty McCreery is hitting the road! The 30-year-old just announced his headlining Fall of Summer Tour, kicking off on September 2 in Wauseon, Ohio, and wrapping up on December 7 in Hinton, Oklahoma.

The tour is named after McCreery’s current Top 40 single, “Fall of Summer,” the second release from his latest Rise & Fall album, out now.

“I’m so proud of my new Rise & Fall album, and I’m pumped to bring the Fall of Summer Tour out on the road,” McCreery says. “Performing live is one of my favorite things to do, and I can’t wait to play these songs for folks across the country as well as a few Canadian shows in Ontario.”

“Fall of Summer” follows “Cab In A Solo,” which became McCreery’s sixth No. 1 single. The North Carolina native wrote “Fall of Summer” with Brent Anderson, Derek George, Frank Rogers and Monty Criswell. It was “Fall of Summer” that inspired McCreery to name his new album Rise & Fall.

“Every album until this one, I’ve just picked a song title that I thought represented kind of where we’re at or the lead single,” McCreery said at a media event celebrating the release of Rise and Fall. “But this one, something felt different, and I didn’t think there was a song title that totally captured the feeling that I had for the whole project. And I’m old school; I know it’s a single-driven world nowadays, but I want my album to tell a story, start to finish.”

The news comes as McCreery is getting ready to release another song, “Gettin’ Old,” this one a duet with Callista Clark.

“I first met Callista on a UK tour we did together a few years ago,” McCreery recently told Everything Nash and other outlets. “She was opening the shows for us. I was just blown away by her songwriting and her stage presence, and her voice is just ridiculous. The runs she can do, I think I would fall over if I tried to do what she does with her voice. She’s so talented and has something she wants to share with the world.

“So when she sent the song over, I fell in love with it, and was just honored that she wanted me to sing on it,” he added. “So I’m excited for folks to hear it. It’s a great song. She wrote one heck of a song, and I’m excited for people to hear it.”
