New music is coming from Scotty McCreery! The American Idol alum announces the release of his single, “You Time.” The song, which Scotty wrote with Frank Rogers and Aaron Eshuis, is from an upcoming new album. The track will be available on September 23.
“You Time,” which says in part, “I need a little you time, you time / Red wine sippin’ in moonlight / Your touch, your skin / Your lips kissin’ on me all night / I ain’t tryin’ to monopolize / Your 24/7, 365 / But sometimes I need / Just a little bit of me and / You time, you time, you time,” was inspired in part by Scotty’s wife of two years, Gabi.
“I am so excited about releasing new music, especially a song that makes me think of Gabi and puts me in a joyful mood,” Scotty said of the tune. “I think we can all use a smile right now,”
Scotty also announced the release of his new single on social media, revealing he would debut the song at his upcoming Live at the Ryman livestream event on Friday, September 4, which will also mark the Ryman Auditorium’s first live show since closing in March because of COVID-19.

“You Time” is Scotty’s first single off of of his next album. His previous record, Seasons Change, which was released in 2018, had three No. 1 singles: “This Is It,” “In Between” and the multi-platinum hit, “Five More Minutes.”
Scotty has unexpectedly been off the road this year, due to the coronavirus pandemic. Although he wishes he could be performing in front of his fans, he admits he is soaking up the time with his wife — and learning how to live with her, including putting up the toilet seat.
“I would say I’ve gotten a little bit better through quarantine, because I’ve just been home more, and I think I’m learning more home etiquette,” Scotty shared on the Bobby Bones Show. “Home etiquette and bus etiquette are two totally different things, I would say.”
“I do (miss the bus),” he added. “I’ve always lived, and I sleep better on the bus, because the engine’s kind of lulling me to sleep. You have endless snacks right above your head, that you can just pull out whenever you’re hungry. I’m itching to get back on the road.”
Scotty also postponed his European tour dates until 2021. In-person tickets for his Live at the Ryman show are sold out. Streaming tickets are still available here.
