Scotty McCreery just dropped the lyric video for “Slow Dance,” the romantic new song from his forthcoming Rise and Fall album, out on May 10.
The background, like the album cover, shows the mountains of North Carolina, an intentional decision by McCreery to celebrate a place that is so important to him.
“The mountains of North Carolina are my own heaven on earth,” McCreery explains on social media. “It’s where I proposed to Gabi and now where we take hikes with Avery. I wrote some of my favorite songs on the back porch in these mountains with some of my songwriter buddies. So now it is only fitting that these mountains are a part of the Rise & Fall album forever.

McCreery recently opened up about the title of his new record, and why he chose it for his long-awaited next set of tunes.
“I feel like we’re on the rise now, but I’ve fallen pretty low as well,” the American Idol alum explained. “I learned from every little part of that, and it helped me to know who I was as a person – let alone an artist. The rises and the falls helped craft these songs. They made this album what it is.”
2024 is shaping up to be a big year for McCreery. In addition to headlining his Cab In A Solo Tour, which kicked off with a run of sold-out shows, he will also become the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry, when he is inducted by Josh Turner on April 20.
“It has been my longtime goal to be worthy of Opry membership,” McCreery said when the date iof his Grand Ole Opry induction was announced. “I am overjoyed to join this prestigious family that is the heart of country music. To be invited by my hero Garth Brooks and to be inducted by another hero Josh Turner is beyond what I could have ever dreamed.”
McCreery also seems poised to have another No. 1 hit, with “Cab In A Solo,” the debut single from Rise and Fall. The song, already in the Top 10, was the most-added at country radio when it was released last August.
“Country radio, thank y’all so much,” McCreery said after the massive accomplishment. “I’ve been doing this now 12 years, and I have never even come close to this many adds on one of the first add days. So thank you all for the support. I’m so excited about ‘Cab In A Solo.’ Can’t wait to hear it on the radio. Can’t wait to get out there and play it on the road. See y’all out there, but again, thank y’all. Love you country radio.”
McCreery has also released “Love Like This” and “Can’t Pass The Bar” from Rise and Fall. See a track list for his new album below. Find all of McCreery’s music and upcoming shows, and pre-order Rise and Fall, at ScottyMcCreery.com.
