Scotty McCreery to Release 'Red Letter Blueprint' With Jason Crabb

Scotty McCreery‘s collaboration with Jason Crabb is out! The two singers just dropped “Red Letter Blueprint.” The song, which McCreery and Crabb announced earlier this week, is from McCreery’s 2024 Rise & Fall album.

“I’ve been a big fan of Jason Crabb,” McCreery said when announcing the duet. “When my guitarist suggested we collab on ‘Red Letter Blueprint’ I knew it was going to turn out special. Having him on the song took it from a track I love, to a track I am so so proud of.”

McCreery’s “Red Letter Blueprint” could be a precursor of things to come. The 31-year-old previously hinted he would someday like to make an album of songs about his Christian faith.

“I would love to make a gospel record,” McCreery revealed. “I think one of my favorite Elvis records was his gospel record. One of my heroes growing up was Josh Turner. As a lot of folks know, he just got a chance to make a gospel record. So, it’s a goal of mine. I’m not sure if that will be five years, ten years, but it’s a goal of mine to be able to do that. I grew up singing gospel songs in church. We just recorded a gospel song to go on the record. That’s what we ended the whole day with, so it’s something that’s important to me.”

When McCreery released “Red Letter Blueprint,” he said he hoped the song inspired others to read their Bible.

“It’s just about how, every answer you need is right there in the Good Book, in the Bible,” McCreery shared. “I try to dive in and read the Word as best as I can. I’m like everybody who wishes they could do more, but it’s just that kind of song. ‘Hey, if life is going here, if life is going there,’ it applies to those right there. It’s a special song. I loved it when we were writing it. I love how it’s come out in the studio. I think folks will enjoy it.”

McCreery and Crabb could someday have more in common than just “Red Letter Blueprint.” McCreery became a Grand Ole Opry member in 2024, and Trace Adkins says Crabb should follow suit.

“By the way, I’ll just say this while I have the microphone in my hand: if I have to apologize for it I will,” Adkins said while celebratinghis 20th anniversary as an Opry member. “I think Jason Crabb and Exile ought to be members of the Grand Ole Opry. I think it’s a shame that they’re not. If you’ve got a problem with that, fire me. I’m starting a campaign, and I ain’t going to rest until they’re members of the Grand Ole Opry.”

McCreery will spend part of 2025 opening for Kane Brown on Brown’s The High Road Tour. He will also headline his own UK Tour this year.  Find all of McCreery’s music and upcoming shows at ScottyMcCreery.com.
