Scotty McCreery Shows Off His Family in New ‘Porch’ Video [WATCH]

Scotty McCreery is rightfully proud of his wife, Gabi, and son Avery, who will turn two in October. McCreery just released a video for his song, “Porch,” from his latest Rise & Fall album, out now, showing off his sweet family.

“Sometimes life is about cherishing the little things… like sitting on the porch,” McCreery said on social media, revealing that they shot the video in his home state of North Carolina, where they currently reside.

McCreery might spend a lot of time on the road now, but his family is still his first priority.

“I got a little crib in the bus, and they get to travel around,” McCreery revealed at a recent media event. “If the show doesn’t start too late, Avery’s side stage, watching. We’ve had beach days together, we’ve had mountain trips where he’s crossed the bridge … We do a lot of stuff as a family. Just watching him grow up and realize what we do, it’s pretty cool.”

The 30-year-old released  “Love Like This” from Rise & Fall, a song he was inspired to write when Avery was born.

“Becoming a father is the greatest thing that’s happened to me,” McCreery said of the inspiration behind the song. “Raising Avery as he grows and watching my wife Gabi be a rock star as his Mom has been the joy of my life … I knew I wanted to write a song about Avery. I even photographed the room number on the hospital door so I could put that into the lyrics.”

McCreery hinted soon after Avery was born that his goal was to be present for his little boy, even if that came at the expense of his career.

“Once he gets a little older, I think I’ll probably be cutting the 100 shows a year in half, so I can be there at the ball games, coaching third base, so I can do all those things,” McCreery said on the Daddy vs. Doctor podcast. “So we’ll see. But it’s definitely a balance, and I’m still brand-new, so I haven’t gotten it figured out by any means, but I guess we’ll live and learn.”

McCreery’s altruism and goodwill goes far beyond his immediate family. The  American Idol alum just generously donated a dirt bike to an 11-year-old in Southern California, after a lemonade stand he was using to raise money to buy a dirt bike, was stolen.

“I like to think that there’s a lot of great people out there, but every now and then you hear something that does stink,” McCreery said to Audacy’s 103.7 KSON radio station. “I wanted to call in and offer a little bit of something that I could. If y’all don’t mind, I’d love to contribute a little something.”

“Every kid needs to have fun out there, and I loved dirt bikes when I was a kid, so I’d love to contribute a dirt bike, if that’s okay with y’all,” he continued. “I like other people to feel good, and I don’t like to see any frowns on kids’ faces or anything like that, so this is the least we could do after we heard about this … Thank y’all for jumping on this and doing good in the community. That’s what it’s all about.”

McCreery is currently on his Fall of Summer Tour, which will wrap up in early December. He recently announced he was embarking on his own UK Tour as well in 2025. Find all of McCreery’s music and upcoming shows at ScottyMcCreery.com.
