Scotty McCreery Teases New Collaboration With Dustin Lynch

New music is coming soon from Scotty McCreery, and it is with another country music superstar. McCreery posted a photo on his Instagram Stories, tagging Dustin Lynch, without giving any more context.

McCreery also sent a short clip of a song to his fans via text over the weekend, again without sharing any more details. But McCreery is likely working on new music, one year after his Rise & Fall album was released. That record included his sixth consecutive No. 1 single, with “Cab In A Solo,” along with his recent hit, “Fall of Summer.”

McCreery recently announced the release of Seasons Change: Platinum Edition, his 2018 record on vinyl. The album will include four bonus acoustic tracks, of  “In Between,” “Five More Minutes,” “This Is It” and “Still.”

“The Seasons Change album was truly life-changing for me,” says McCreery. “After experiencing both some career highs and lows, I was starting over. For the first time, I co-wrote all the songs and felt like the project was truly me. It has been both gratifying and confidence-building to see how the fans, radio and streaming have embraced the music from this album and me. I’m a guy who loves to look back, and I celebrate the release of this new expanded edition and all the accomplishments we’ve made since the original album came out, while also looking ahead to making new dreams come true.”

Seasons Change also includes “Damn Strait,” a platinum-selling, multi-week No. 1 hit for McCreery.

“It’s a song that I love,” McCreery told Everything Nash. “And it’s a message I think needs to be heard, and it’s coming off of my biggest song to date with ‘Damn Strait.’ So it’s so fun right now, just getting to go out there …  to see the fans singing these songs back to me, and the smiles on their faces. It wasn’t that long ago that I didn’t have these five number ones, these hits to play, and I was grounding up some covers to try and entertain the crowd. And so now to have my own stuff that they get excited for, it’s pretty special.”

McCreery and Lynch have more in common than a new song coming out together. Both McCreery and Lynch are also proud Grand Ole Opry members. Lynch was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry by Reba McEntire in 2018. Six years later, McCreery was also inducted, by Josh Turner.

“It feels pretty fantastic, to be honest,” McCreery told Everything Nash. “It’s a dream come true. It’s an invitation — you never know if you’re going to get that call, so it just means the world. And how it went down, with Garth Brooks being the one to do the invitation, and Josh Turner being the guy to induct me. In my wildest dreams, I couldn’t have thought up anything better. I’m just so thankful.”

Seasons Change: Platinum Edition will be out on June 20. McCreery is headlining his own UK Tour, kicking off next month. Pre-order Seasons Change: Platinum Edition, and find all of McCreery’s music and upcoming shows at ScottyMcCreery.com.
