Scotty McCreery has a new collaboration coming out, and it’s with a gospel music superstar. The American Idol alum reveals he and Jason Crabb have teamed up for a new version of “Red Letter Blueprint,” out on Friday, February 7.
“Red Letter Blueprint” was written by McCreery, along with Derek George, Brent Anderson, Jeremy Bussey and Monty Crisell. The song is from McCreery’s latest Rise & Fall album.
“I’ve been a big fan of Jason Crabb,” McCreery says. “When my guitarist suggested we collab on ‘Red Letter Blueprint’ I knew it was going to turn out special. Having him on the song took it from a track I love, to a track I am so so proud of. Can’t wait for y’all to hear it this Friday, Feb. 7th.”

McCreery has been outspoken about his Christian faith, which is why he wanted to include “Red Letter Blueprint” on Rise & Fall.
“My faith is everything to me,” McCreery says. “It’s held me up during my lows, and it’s been with me when I celebrate my highs. This new album was influenced by the rises and falls in my life through the years, so I wanted to sing about what sustains me. I’ve featured songs about my wife and my son, but I also wanted to share a song about my faith. I hope it is comforting to anyone who may need to hear these words.”
Ahead of the release of Rise & Fall, the father of one hinted that he was going to have a song about his own spiritual beliefs on his next record.
“It’s just about how, every answer you need is right there in the Good Book, in the Bible,” McCreery shared. “I try to dive in and read the Word as best as I can. I’m like everybody who wishes they could do more, but it’s just that kind of song. ‘Hey, if life is going here, if life is going there,’ it applies to those right there. It’s a special song. I loved it when we were writing it. I love how it’s come out in the studio. I think folks will enjoy it.”
McCreery currently has a Top 30 hit with “Fall of Summer,” another song from Rise & Fall. “Fall of Summer” is the second single from the album, following Cab In A Solo,” which became McCreery’s sixth No. 1 single,
“I had a blast writing this song,” McCreery tells the Country Music Association. “Typically I’m in Nashville and writing in an office building or writers’ room. But I took all my Nashville buddies to the mountains of North Carolina, and we just piled around the fireplace without guitars and some cold drinks, and wrote country music. It felt like the old days, and ‘Fall of Summer’ was one of those songs we wrote on that trip. We were all vibing to it.”
McCreery will spend part of 2025 opening for Kane Brown on Brown’s The High Road Tour. He will also headline his own UK Tour this year. Find all of McCreery’s music and upcoming shows at ScottyMcCreery.com.
