Big news from Scotty McCreery! The American Idol alum reveals the release of Seasons Change: Platinum Edition, on vinyl! Seasons Change is McCreery’sthird studio album. The bonus acoustic tracks are “In Between,” “Five More Minutes,” “This Is It” and “Still.”
McCreery teased the release of Seasons Change on vinyl earlier this week. It is, for McCreery, a milestone album.
“The Seasons Change album was truly life-changing for me,” says McCreery. “After experiencing both some career highs and lows, I was starting over. For the first time, I co-wrote all the songs and felt like the project was truly me. It has been both gratifying and confidence-building to see how the fans, radio and streaming have embraced the music from this album and me. I’m a guy who loves to look back, and I celebrate the release of this new expanded edition and all the accomplishments we’ve made since the original album came out, while also looking ahead to making new dreams come true.”
It was “Five More Minutes” that became McCreery’s first No. 1 hit.
“I still think that was probably the biggest moment in my career,” McCreery told CMT‘s Cody Alan of the success of “Five More Minutes.” “I mean, Idol was so big, and it gets your face out there, your name out there a lot. But that was a TV deal. I grew up wanting to be a music star, and having songs on the radio. I never quite got that first No. 1. ‘Five More Minutes,’ a song that was so personal to me, being that first No. 1, to me was just huge.”
McCreery followed “Five More Minutes” with “This Is It” and “In Between,” both also chart-topping singles from Seasons Change. Following Seasons Change, Chesney released Same Truck three years later. That record included two more No. 1 hits, with “You Time” and “Damn Strait,” the latter one of the biggest hits of his career.
“It’s a song that I love,” McCreery told Everything Nash. “And it’s a message I think needs to be heard, and it’s coming off of my biggest song to date with ‘Damn Strait.’ So it’s so fun right now, just getting to go out there … to see the fans singing these songs back to me, and the smiles on their faces. It wasn’t that long ago that I didn’t have these five number ones, these hits to play, and I was grounding up some covers to try and entertain the crowd. And so now to have my own stuff that they get excited for, it’s pretty special.”
McCreery’s latest single is “Fall of Summer,” from his latest Rise & Fall album. The Grand Ole Opry member is currently on the road with Kane Brown, serving as the opening act on Brown’s The High Road Tour. McCreery will also headline tour to the United Kingdom later this year.
