Shania Twain Announces Nashville Show With Kelsea Ballerini and BRELAND

Shania Twain hasn’t announced much about tour plans in 2023, but she did just reveal one show, and it happens to be in Nashville. The country music superstar confirmed, via social media, that she would play a concert in Nashville next year, with Kelsea Ballerini and BRELAND serving as her opening acts.

“There’s been a few rumours in the press about what’s coming next from me – It’s been fun to watch,” Twain teased. “Well I am here to officially confirm ONE of those rumours… NASHVILLE, won’t you wake up dreaming with me, Kelsea Ballerini and BRELAND at GEODIS Park on June 7th?”

“Wake up dreaming” is a nod to Twain’s new single, “Waking Up Dreaming,” out now. The song, her first new release in five years, is from a forthcoming new album, with her new record label, Republic Nashville.

“I couldn’t think of a better partner than Republic Nashville,” Twain says of her new musical venture. “I’m honored and excited to be the label’s first artist and lead the charge of this new and exciting chapter. In this respect, it feels like a new beginning all around, and I’m embracing it wholeheartedly.”

It’s fitting that Ballerini is joining Twain, since the two have become close friends in recent years. It was Ballerini who sang “Man! I Feel Like A Woman” to honor Twain at the recent ACM Honors ceremony, where Twain received the  ACM Poets Award.

“I’ve known her for a couple years now, and we’ve had a really beautiful mentor-mentee relationship,” Ballerini told Variety. “This conversation was before the news came out about what I’m going through [with the divorce], but I was experiencing it and I needed advice. So we had a big celebration dinner with both of our teams and gave cheers for her award, and then I sat on her hotel room balcony for a couple of hours and she just was really honest and open and warm and lovely. Right now, I have fewer artist friendships than I’ve ever had, but the ones that I do have are actual genuine friendships. I put her in that category.”

Twain will be inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame later this year, along with Steve WarinerHillary Lindsey, Gary Nicholson and David Malloy.

“I can only say that it’s a dream come true. I’m really honored to be among so many of my songwriting idols, and it just feels really good,” Twain said when the news was announced. “Thank you for accepting me into your community. I wish I could be there, but I’m actually writing right now, in Switzerland, and I’m trying to finish up my album, but I wanted to thank you, even though I can’t be there in person.”
