Shania Twain to Host 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards

The host for the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards has been revealed! Shania Twain will host the second annual ceremony, taking place on September 26. The show will air live from the Grand Ole Opry at 8:00 PM ET on NBC and Peacock. Nominees, presenters and performers will be announced in the near future.

“Country has some of the most passionate fans in music and us artists are so lucky to be supported in doing what we love,” Twain says. “I am honored to host an award show that celebrates these awesome fans. Get ready for an unforgettable show with lots of big hair, glamour, rhinestones, hats, boots and incredible performances. Giddy Up!”

“With a proven track record of creating music that stands the test of time, Shania is a beloved member of the country community,” adds Jen Neal, Executive Vice President, Live Events and Specials, NBCUniversal Entertainment. “As we return to the Grand Ole Opry House, she is the perfect person to help us celebrate country’s finest.”

Last year, Morgan Wallen was crowned the Artist of the Year in the fan-voted ceremony, while Jelly Roll was named the Male Artist of the Year, and Lainey Wilson walked away with the Female Artist of the Year trophy.

Wynonna Judd was given the Country Champion Award, and Toby Keith was the recipient of the Country Icon Award. The show also marked Keith’s final televised performance, of “Don’t Let The Old Man In,” before he passed away on February 5, from stomach cancer.

“I bet you never thought you’d see me in skinny jeans,” Keith quipped from stage, referring to his somewhat frail appearance. “I wanna thank the Almighty for allowing me to be here tonight. He’s been riding shotgun with me for a little while. I want to thank my beautiful family that’s here. A lot of people go into making a big career like this, of 30 years … Most of all, I want to thank the fans for allowing us to still do what we do. God bless y’all.”

Twain’s latest album, Queen of Me, was released last year. The Canadian co-wrote all 12 songs on the record.

“I wrote it from a place of feeling good within myself – I wanted music that got me dancing and lifted my spirits!” Twain said at the time. “I think the fact that I recorded it with so many good hearted people only amplified that! I hope the album empowers you to feel good in your own skin!”

The album made Twain the flagship artist for Republic Nashville, a division of Republic Records.

“I couldn’t think of a better partner than Republic Nashville,” Twain said of the joint venture. “I’m honored and excited to be the label’s first artist and lead the charge of this new and exciting chapter. In this respect, it feels like a new beginning all around, and I’m embracing it wholeheartedly.”

Twain is currently headlinng her global Queen of Me Tour, and also has dates for her Come On Over residency in Las Vegas. Find music and tour dates at ShaniaTwain.com.
