This might be the medicine we all need right now. Steve Wariner just performed an acoustic cover of Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World,” as only Steve can, which seems more timely now than ever before.
“This song has always moved me… even more so today,” Steve posted.

Steve recently co-wrote “America (Still in Love With You),” with Clint Black. The song appears on Clint’s latest album, Out of Sane.
“That’s a song that comes out of the great appreciation for the life I have here, and all the opportunities I’ve had,” Clint said of “America (Still in Love With You).” “It was just an idea; when Steve Wariner came over to the house to show me his new guitar, his Steve Wariner model, Gretsch. I told him about the idea. He loved it and said, ‘We ought to write it.’ I just launched into it, and didn’t even ask. I just started working on it. The first question was, ‘What do we do with it musically?’ and it grew from there. Before we were even half-finished with the song, I was over on my computer, just texting musicians, and trying to find out who was available when.”
Steve has been hosting #WarinerWednesday, a livestream on social media, while he is off the road due to COVID-19. Previous guests have included Garth Brooks, Clint and others. He will also perform online on Tuesday, June 30, at 9:00 PM ET / 8:00 PM CT, for the Country Music Hall of Fame‘s weekly Songwriter Session. The show can be found by visiting the Country Music Hall of Fame’s Instagram page.
