A vulnerable and truthful new album is coming from Tenille Arts. The Canadian announces the release of her to be honest album, out on May 3. The new project details the highs and lows of the past few years since Girl to Girl came out in 2021.
“to be honest is the most important album of my musical journey so far, and I couldn’t be prouder of it,” Arts shares. “After celebrating the highest highs of my career, I ended up in a difficult place in my life. As always, I went to music to process what I was going through. These 14 songs share a truly honest take of where I’ve been in the past couple of years.
“I hope that when people listen they know that it’s okay to not be okay sometimes… and that there’s still so much happy and beautiful even in the hard times,” she adds. “I owe my fans something deeply real and I owe myself something deeply real. Thank you for taking the time to listen!”
Arts also spoke about to be honest on social media, revealing it is an in-depth look at her personal heartache over the end of a relationship.
“My new album ‘to be honest’ is coming out May 3rd,” Arts writes. “It’s the breakup album I didn’t know I was writing and the most honest take on the past few years of my life. I owe you guys something real… and I owe myself something real. I love you all and I cannot wait for you to hear these 14 songs.”

Arts co-wrote 12 of the 14 songs on the record, which also includes a track written by King Henry, Demi Lovato, Sasha Sloan and Laura Veltz. She also includes her “Jealous of Myself” duet with LeAnn Rimes, written by Emily Weisband, Trevor Rosen and John Byron.
“LeAnn Rimes, The Chicks, Shania Twain and Kelly Clarkson were my idols growing up,” Arts said when the video for “Jealous of Myself” was released. “LeAnn in particular has been a huge part of my story in country music since I was very young. One of my most viewed videos on TikTok is of me singing ‘Blue’ when I was 11 years old, and then it transitions to a full circle moment of performing it on the Opry. I am so grateful and humbled by LeAnn’s willingness to collaborate with me on this very special song. I will remember and cherish this forever.”
Arts will serve as the opening act for the Canadian leg of Luke Bryan‘s Mind of a Country Boy Tour, kicking off in April. See a track list for to be honest below. Pre-order for to be honest is available here. Find all of Arts’ music and upcoming shows at TenilleArts.com.
