The Isaacs Enlist Dave Cobb for Diverse New Record [EXCLUSIVE]

The Isaacs have big news about their next album. The family band, made up of mother Lily Isaacs, and siblings Ben, Sonya and Becky Isaacs, reveals they have a new record coming out later this year, produced by one of music’s biggest legends.

“We recorded this past year a country record with Dave Cobb,” Ben reveals to Everything Nash. “We’ve not talked about it yet. We don’t know when it’s coming out. We’re trying to find the right home for it and the right place for it. But let me just tell you, it’s incredible. Just the feel of it, it’s highly anointed.”

The Isaacs have a lengthy history of being able to record all types of music, including bluegrass, gospel and more. But with this project, they are breaking the mold, branching out into unchartered waters, while still remaining true to who they are.

“It’s country Americana,” Ben explains. “It’s an ethereal type — we recorded it at RCA, the big room at RCA. We did almost all of the vocals live. I don’t even know how to explain it. It’s very different. It’s hard to categorize it as a country record. It’s probably more of an Americana record.”

“It’s like ’70s music,” adds Becky. “To me, like the sound of ‘Wichita Lineman’ or something like that, those kind of sounds that come together with like the Americana, folky sound.”

The forthcoming record combines all of their favorite sounds and artists, into one cohesive project.

“Dave produces Chris Stapleton, and he’s won lots of awards for him and with him,” says Sonya. “I think it’s kind of like a mix between a Linda Ronstadt, ’70s country rock album, and a Chris Stapleton record. It’s got elements of all of that. We’re excited for y’all to hear it.”

The new album comes on the heels of their latest project, called Praise & Worship: More Than A Hollow Hallelujah,” released last year.

“It’s a collection of 11 songs of praise and worship, CCM songs, like ‘Goodness of God,’ ‘You Say,’ ‘Reckless Love,’ ‘Oceans’ and ‘Psalms 23,'” Sonya explains. ” A bunch of songs that have been huge songs in that world. We’ve never sang them before, and so we recorded them our style, and also added one original song that we wrote that’s the title, ‘More Than a Hollow Hallelujah.’ It’s doing really well. It’s been a different thing for us to do, and it’s opened a lot of doors for us to do something in that world as well.”

The Isaacs maintain a busy touring schedule throughout the year. It’s important for them to keep performing in front of their fans, especially in recent years.

“We love to tour,” Becky says. “Live music to me is where it’s at. One thing that’s really weird about 2025 — it’s beautiful, but anybody can be an artist. But until you see them live, do you really see the true talent and understand what they can do and how well they can do it? So my favorite thing is to see an artist live. YouTube can be great, and the videos are awesome, but there’s nothing like a live show … You get to know your favorite artists by seeing their shows, so we love to perform live.”

“After 2020, when none of us could tour for almost a whole year, it’s given us a different passion for touring, and appreciation for being back out there,” Sonya adds. “And the fans, getting to have them come back in, and. some of them are still slow trickling back into the groove of it, but we just love being with the people. We love getting to meet them, and talk to them after the shows. It really means a lot to the fans, and we couldn’t be out here without them.”

The Isaacs have earned many awards and accolades over the years. But few have had the impact of one they received in 2021, when they became official members of the Grand Ole Opry.

“Somebody asked us when we became members, what it felt like to be Opry members,” Ben shares. “And the only thing I could think of to say was, ‘What does it mean for you, for me to be an Opry member?’ It’s something we’ve done for 30 years; we’ve played the Opry for 30 years. And it’s always felt like home, but it’s always been like, we’re allowed to sit on the porch. But now we’re allowed in the house to visit. So it’s great. It’s incredible. Earthly, I would say it’s probably one of the most amazing things that’s ever happened to me personally, other than my wife and kids.”

The Isaacs recently enjoyed their inaugural performance on the Country Music Cruise, joined by artists like Neal McCoy John Michael MontgomeryDeana CarterThe Bellamy BrothersDiamond RioJamie O’Neal and more.

“We felt so honored to be invited on this last year, and we’ve been looking forward to it all year,” Sonya says. “It’s great. It’s a different group of people. A lot of them never heard us before, so we’re hopefully making some new fans. But to be on here with all of our peers, and other artists that we love so much. It’s so great to be able to catch all their shows and hear them live. It’s just been a great experience so far.”
