The Oak Ridge Boys, Jason Crabb + More to Honor the Military At the Opry

The Oak Ridge Boys and Jason Crabb are just two of the many artists who will perform a special show at the Grand Ole Opry next month, honoring members of the United States military and CreatiVets members. Salute the Troops will be held at the Grand Ole Opry on May 23, with numerous artists gathering to honor members of the Armed Forces, including LOCASH, The War and Treaty and John Conlee.

More artists are expected to be announced in the near future. The Grand Ole Opry announced the news on social media.

CreatiVets supports men and women who need relief and healing after serving in the military, including through songwriting and other creative outlets.

As part of Salute the Troops, members of the military and CreatiVets members, along with their spouses, children and parents will be invited to walk the red carpet. Guests are invited to attend the red carpet, in advance of the show.

Salute the Troops will air as a special Opry Live on Saturday, May 27, for the Memorial Day weekend. The show will air on the Opry’s television broadcast home, Circle Network, as well as Circle All Access‘ Facebook and Twitter pages, and their YouTube channel. Salute the Troops will also air live on WSM Radio, and will be heard on SiriusXM‘s Channel 59 Willie’s Roadhouse.

The Oak Ridge Boys, who have been outspoken supporters of the military and their families, were inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2011, although they had already been performing on the famous stage for many years.

“We’ve always been a friend of the Opry. We’ve always believed in the Opry and loved and respected every member of this brotherhood and sisterhood of country music,” The Oak Ridge Boys’ Joe Bonsall said during their induction. “We’ve been nervous wrecks all day long because we knew how special this would be. This is a meaningful night, and is it different tonight than it ever has been when we’ve come down here to sing? You bet your life it is!”

More artists are expected to be announced for Salute the Troops in the near future. Tickets and more information can be found at Opry.com.
