Thomas Rhett is open to the idea of having his own place in downtown Nashville, like many of his peers, including Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley and more. But unlike the bars and venues of his fellow superstar friends, Rhett says his place would reflect his own life, with his wife, Lauren Akins, and their four daughters.
“I think if I was ever gonna do something like that, it would have to be a place that I would realistically go to,” Rhett tells BMLG. “As a dad with four children, my going to Broadway days have come to a pretty bare minimum, if any. So if I did it, I would love to be able to create something super unique and something that’s not already done – really cool vibe, a really neat atmosphere, more of like a singer-songwriter speakeasy place, but also a place that you could watch a football game. But also, the food would have to be exceptional. So, I don’t know. It would be fun. It would be worth the conversation for sure.”
At one time, Rhett couldn’t have imagined he would be considering his four children in anything, since he didn’t exactly plan on having four children, especially so close in age. But now that he has all of his girls, including seven-year-old Willa Gray, five-year-old Ada James, three-year-old Lennon Love, and Lillie Carolina, one, Rhett can’t imagine life any other way.
“Willa Gray and Lennon were the only two that were planned. Now, I do not believe in accidents. I do believe everything happens for a reason,” Rhett says. “I will say, Ada James was definitely a surprise, and Lily was an extra surprise. And in the moment, you’re kind of sitting there going, ‘What are we doing?’ And now that they’re all getting of this age, you look back at all the sleepless nights, and all the crying and the teething, and all that stuff, and you go, ‘Man, I wouldn’t trade it for the world.’
“It truly is the best thing that I’ve ever been a part of in my life, getting to be a dad,” he adds. “So, it is chaos 24/7, but it’s a beautiful kind of chaos.”
Rhett just kicked off the Canadian leg of his Bring the Bar To You Tour. He will begin his Home Team Tour 23 in May, with Cole Swindell and Nate Smith serving as his opening acts. Find music and tour dates at ThomasRhett.com.
