Surprise! New music is here from Tim McGraw. The singer just dropped a new EP, Poet’s Resumé, six previously unreleased songs McGraw released the project as a thank you to his fans, after the overwhelming success of Standing Room Only, with the title track recently becoming his 46th No. 1 hit.
“In the spirit of being thankful, I’m so grateful for all of you, and the way you have supported me, my family and my music thru the years,” McGraw shares on social media. “Here’s a little surprise drop of a few songs you’ve never heard. Enjoy!”

In a separate post, McGraw shared his thoughts on having 46 chart-topping singles.
“Woke up this morning to find out ‘Standing Room Only’ just went Number 1…. the 46th song to top the Country Radio charts in my career,” McGraw writes. “I can’t believe it, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude!! Thank you to Country Radio and everyone listening!”
McGraw might have had 46 No. 1 singles at country radio, but he isn’t ready to rest on his laurels just yet. The 56-year-old still fights to be the best in country music, more than thirty years after his career began.
“I still want to win the equivalent of the Super Bowl with every single I’m putting out,” he tells The Tennessean, adding that he equates his desire for success to that of an elite athlete.
“I’m still a hard-working songwriter playing my guitar who loves iconic country songs,” he adds. “When I’m sitting at the mixing board with [producer Byron Gallimore], and we hear an undeniable song that we’ve developed, it fires up my competitive juices and the old athlete that I am wants to take the field.”
When Standing Room Only was released, the father of three said the record was, in his estimation, the best he had ever done, at least so far.
“After everything that happened in the world over the past few years…. it made me want to find and record more meaningful, life affirming songs,” McGraw said at the time. “This album came out of it, and I truly think it’s the best project we’ve ever made (I feel like I say that every time, but as an artist, I want to work to get better with every record and I’m really proud of this one).”
McGraw will embark on his Standing Room Only Tour in 2024, with Carly Pearce serving as his opening act for all dates. Poet’s Resumé, which includes the focus track, “Runnin’ Outta Love,” is available here.
