Tim McGraw and Keith Urban are just two of the stars who will perform for an upcoming multi-genre livestream event, benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Music Gives: Together #forStJude will be held on Thursday, August 13, and include six stages, blending both music and culinary talent.
“Summertime often brings people together for a favorite pastime: music festivals. During this time of social distancing, the incredible ambassadors and celebrity friends of St. Jude are ensuring that our summer does not go by without one, and leveraging their talent to make a huge difference for the children of the world,” said Richard C. Shadyac, Jr., President and CEO of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
“At St. Jude, we are reminded that when we all come together to give for those who need it most, we can make a significant difference, which is why I hope you’ll join us for Music Gives: Together #forStJude on August 13 – six hours total of incredible content and artists,” he continued. “Most importantly, giving through events like this when the world is so disrupted enables us to continue to ensure that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.”
The six stages: Hope, Faith, Amor, Kindness, Gratitude and Give Back, will feature more than 30 celebrities and renowned chefs, including Bobby Bones, Brad Paisley, Darius Rucker, Jason Mraz, Brett Eldredge, MercyMe, Lady A, Kirk Franklin, Chef Lorena Garcia, Chef Seamus Mullen and more. Zach Sang, Montell Jordan, Frank Kramer, Omar Velasco and Argelia Atilano, former St. Jude patients Lindsey and Joel Alsup and CMT’s Cody and Marle will serve as the event’s hosts.
Lady A received the prestigious Angels Among Us Award earlier this year, in honor of their extensive support of St. Jude.
“As parents ourselves, being an ambassador for St. Jude over the years has been one of the most gratifying experiences we’ve had in our career,” Hillary said at the time of the honor. “We’ve been all around the country and have seen firsthand the important impact St. Jude has on children and families and the heartfelt community they’ve created. This is one of the highest honors we could receive and we are so thankful to contribute even a tiny part in the amazing efforts made by St. Jude.”
