New music is here from Tim McGraw! The father of three just released “Standing Room Only,” a song he announced last week after dropping a clue by creating a McGraw Three-ten Twenty Three playlist, with the first letter of each song spelling out the title of his brand-new track.
“Standing Room Only” says in part, “I wanna live a life, live a life / Like a dollar and the clock on the wall don’t own me / Shine a light, shine a light / Like mama’s front porch when I’m lost and lonely / Start forgiving and start forgetting / Be somebody that’s worth remembering / Live a life so when I die / There’s standing room only.” It’s a song that McGraw says he knew right away that he wanted to record.
“For me, this song is so positive and life affirming,” McGraw says of the song. “It caught my ear the first time I heard it. I hope it can be a reminder to live a life filled with gratitude, and not take things for granted. ‘Standing Room Only’ is out now. I hope you love the message as much as I do.”
“Standing Room Only” is likely from a new album. The song follows “7500 OBO,” released in 2021, which also became his 45th No. 1 single, a number he later said was especially significant to him.
“[45] is a pretty special number in our family because, as a lot of people know, my dad was a professional baseball player, and his number was 45,” McGraw shared with his record label. “And he passed on at age 59 quite a few years back, and so I think that song will be special because of that number.”
Last year, McGraw said he was hard at work on a new album, which comes after Here on Earth was released in 2020.
“I’m in the middle of it,” McGraw said on Country Countdown USA. “I’ve probably mixed eight so far, and will record a few more soon. I’m always looking to beat what I did last time. I’m sure we’ll have something off the new album here before too long. I don’t know when the album will drop.”
