Tim McGraw is using a Randy Travis song to hint about what fans can expect from his upcoming Standing Room Only Tour. The Louisiana native posted a cover of Travis’ “On the Other Hand,” hinting that he planned on honoring some of the country music legends — and their biggest hits — while on the road.
“Here’s a cover from a few years back,” McGraw captioned the video. “Looking forward to doing more of these on tour next year.”

McGraw recently added more dates to his Standing Room Only Tour, which will feature Carly Pearce for all dates. The 56-year-old is by now well-versed in headlining massive tours, but hints his Standing Room Only Tour will be like nothing even his most-loyal fans have seen from him before.
“It’s the first time we’ve done an arena tour in a long time,” McGraw told Entertainment Tonight. “I’m looking forward to it. We’ve got some crazy spectacular production I’m looking forward to everybody seeing. This is probably one of the coolest productions we’ve ever had. We’re gonna blow it out.”
The Standing Room Only Tour is named after his latest album, which was released last month, a record McGraw was determined to make postive and uplifiting.
“There is a reason we’re here,” McGraw said of the inspiration behind the record. “There is a purpose we’re here. Again, life affirmation, life affirming. Songs that said that there is a purpose that we’re here. There is a reason that we’re here. There is good. There is light. There are plenty of people out there who care, and plenty of people out there who just want the motivation to do better, including me.
“I can get very insular and isolated, and like it,” he remarked. “Especially over the last three years or so. You had to force yourself to go out there and not get lost inside your own head.”
McGraw worked on Standing Room Only when the world was shut down because of COVID-19, a challenging time that he used to bring about positivity.
“I started working on this pretty much right after our last album, Here on Earth, came out right in the middle of the pandemic,” McGraw explained on The Morning Show. “What else was I going to do? You couldn’t do anything else, so I was just working on the music. My process usually starts where, I have an idea of the kind of music I want to make.
“And certainly, because of the period of time that we were all going through, I started out with that mindset that I wanted to write something positive, and I wanted to have some positive stuff on my record,” he added.
The album’s title track is currently in the Top 10 and climbing. Find music and tour dates at TimMcGraw.com.
