A new album is coming from Trisha Yearwood! The Grand Ole Opry member announces the release of a new record, which for the first time is full of songs that she wrote. Yearwood recently introduced the songs at Nashville’s iconic Bluebird Café. Fortunately, fans who missed the show will still have the chance to see her live, as she heads out on tour, beginning on April 30 in Austin Texas.
Yearwood announced the tour on social media.
“I’m gonna come to a few venues this spring, to do some pretty cool performances, and it’s been a while,” she says. “I hope you’ll come and hear some of your favorite songs, and maybe some new things too will become your new favorites. I can’t wait to see you.”

“I’ve been busy writing and in the studio and I’m too excited about the new music so I’m hitting the road to share it with you!” Yearwood captions the video.
The wife of Garth Brooks recently revealed that she was delving into songwriting.Yearwood avoided it for most of her career, after someone told her she wasn’t a good songwriter, while she was still a teenager. Those words stuck with Yearwood for decades, until she decided to change the narrative she was telling herself.
“I’ve let it be true, but not anymore,” Yearwood tells CMT. “It’s still hard for me, but I’m doing it. I’m always nervous when I go, but I get a little less nervous every time. It’s just been really good. I’m so excited about it.”
It was Leslie Satcher, one of the writers who joined Yearwood at the Bluebird Café, who first broached the idea to Yearwood about writing.
“She’s like, ‘Girl, every time we get together, I think you’ve got something to say,’” Yearwood recalls. “So, I finally said, ‘Okay, I’ll do this with you, but I’m really nervous.’”
Fortunately, this time around, Yearwood was ready and eager to take on the challenge. And, more importantly, to silence the voices of negativity in her head.
“Your 19-year-old self locks it in there so anytime someone would ask me about writing and something has happened in the last year, and it’s like, ‘I’m not gonna be afraid to give it a shot,’” she adds.
When Yearwood first started writing, she admitted she wasn’t sure how many of her own songs she would include on her next project.
“I don’t know where the originals fall,” Yearwood said at the time. “I don’t know if I want to cut one or two on this record, or if it’s gonna be a songwriter thing or if it’s gonna be its own thing. I don’t know yet, but we’ll see once we get in there.”
Yearwood released “Put It In A Song” last year. A date for her new album has yet to be revealed. See a list of dates on her upcoming tour below. Tickets will be available beginning on Friday, February 21. Find more information at TrishaYearwood.com.
