Trisha Yearwood and Lauren Alaina‘s duet is out! The two singers just released a collaboration of “Getting Good,” which is the title track of Lauren’s latest EP.
“I just love the sentiment of this song,” Trisha said in a statement. “We all have these dreams. What you learn, is it’s not the goals that you reach that are the things you’re really going to remember, it’s the journey all along the way. So that lyric – once I learn to grow right where I’m planted, maybe that’s when life starts getting good – that’s the truth. That’s the life lesson.”
“I’m so thankful that I get to share such an important message with one of the most important and impactful voices in my life,” Lauren added. “Trisha is a beautiful person inside and out. I’m honored she said yes to this song and to me. I’m learning to grow right where I’m planted, and I’m realizing, life’s already good.”
Trisha and Lauren teased the video on social media earlier this week, sharing a clip of the two of them from Lauren’s appearance earlier this year on Trisha’s award-winning Food Network cooking show, Trisha’s Southern Kitchen.
Lauren is working on a full-length album, and while she hasn’t said when it will be released, she did hint it would be much more country-sounding than anything she has done in the past.
“I think, on this album, we’re gonna play with including some very traditional-sounding songs on there,” Lauren previously hinted. “I was trying to tap into some of my roots, being a Georgia girl growing up. My family’s from Alabama, and they’re farmers. I don’t know that I’ve totally shown that part of myself, 100 percent.”
The duet version of “Getting Good” is available via Lauren’s website.
