The long-awaited Sinatra Bar & Lounge will soon be open in Nashville, an event that will be celebrated with country music’s own Trisha Yearwood. The Grand Ole Opry member, who released her Let’s Be Frank album in 2019, in tribute to Frank Sinatra, will perform for the grand opening.
“We are thrilled that our Dad, who loved good songs, good food and good spirits, will now be part of Music City’s creative and vibrant landscape,” says Nancy and Tina Sinatra in a joint statement.
Sinatra Bar & Lounge is owned and operated by Icon Entertainment Group. The venue will be located in Printers Alley, at 222 Fourth Avenue North, inside the Southern Turf building, also owned by Icon Entertainment.
“The stately Southern Turf landmark is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and once housed a speakeasy and saloon; how cool is that?” Tina adds.
The menu wll also reflect Sinatra and his own personal tastes, including traditional Italian dishes, steaks, crafted cocktails and more.
“We couldn’t be more excited about the upcoming opening of Sinatra Bar & Lounge,” said Icon Entertainment Group CEO Bill Miller. “In my ten years of living in Nashville, this is undoubtedly the most anticipated opening of any venue I’ve seen here, and it speaks to Frank Sinatra’s ongoing appeal to multiple generations. We look forward to providing our guests with a dining and entertainment experience second to none.”
According to the Nashville Scene, while Sinatra Bar & Lounge might be in the heart of downtown, there will be a strictly-enforced dress code, which includes no flip-flops or shorts.
It’s fitting that Yearwood is the performer for the Sinatra Bar & Lounge opening, since she did her entire Let’s Be Frank album in honor of Sinatra and his legacy.
“I’ve always loved these songs,” she told Sounds Like Nashville when the record was released. “My mom loved old movies and she was born in 1937, so this was really her era. I think I got that love of those songs from her. I used to do a few of them in my live show, but it kind of came together when I did a birthday party. The Grammy’s did a 100th birthday tribute to Frank Sinatra. Don Was was the musical director. I did, ‘I’ll Be Seeing You,’ which is on the record. Don said, ‘Have you ever thought about doing a record of these songs?’ I said ‘Every day.’ I asked him if he would be interested in doing this together. He said yes.”
The invitation-only grand opening will take place on April 14. SiriusXM’s Siriusly Sinatra channel will broadcast Let’s Be Frank with Trisha Yearwood LIVE from Sinatra Bar & Lounge in Nashville, Tennessee from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM CT, and will include interviews and performances, as well as songs from Let’s Be Frank and other Sinatra tracks.
