Trisha Yearwood to Perform Special Tribute at 2020 ACM Awards

Trisha Yearwood has been added to the list of performers for the 2020 ACM Awards! The singer will perform “I’ll Carry You Home,” from her latest Every Girl album, out last year, honoring those who have recently passed away in the country music industry.

Trisha announced the news on social media.

Trisha’s performance comes as her husband, Garth Brooks, removed himself from the list of contenders for the Entertainer of the Year, a category he already won seven times, including last year, even though not everyone agreed with his decision.

After Steve Wariner and Blake Shelton both spoke out on social media about his choice to remove his own name, saying he deserved to still be nominated, Trisha responded by saying, ” “I love you boys!! … Thanks for always having my cowboy’s back!”

Miranda Lambert leads the list of nominees with seven nods, including for Entertainer of the Year, a category she shares with Eric Church, Luke Combs, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban. Maren Morris has five nods, while Dan + Shay and Carly Pearce each have four.

Trisha joins a lengthy list of artists already slated to perform for the awards ceremony, including Luke Bryan, Dan + Shay, Kane Brown, Mickey Guyton, Florida Georgia Line, Morgan Wallen, Tim McGraw, Miranda, Kelsea Ballerini, Maren, Thomas Rhett with Jon Pardi and Old Dominion. Keith will serve as the event’s host. The ceremony will take place at the Grand Ole Opry, the Ryman Auditorium, and the Bluebird Cafe.

The 2020 ACM Awards, which will be a virtual event this year because of COVID-19, will air live from Nashville on Wednesday, September 16, at 8:00 PM ET on CBS.
